Is the refund legitimate?
Yes. The refund was authorized by the Board of Directors in January 2026. Eligible policyholders will receive approximately 12% of the gross premium paid for 2025.
To qualify, you must:
- Have been insured with Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance for at least 36 consecutive months; and
- Still be a policyholder as of March 15, 2026.

Cheques are issued to the named insured on the policy. We cannot reissue a cheque to different names unless the policy is updated.
To request a name change:
- Contact your insurance agent or broker to update your policy; and
- Return the original cheque to Bay of Quinte Mutual.
Once the change is complete, a new cheque can be issued.
